The last weekend in July we went to Grand Beach, MI with the Kwon Cornells to a house that Mommy and Mrs. Sonia bid on at my school auction. Boy was it a nice house! And I had so much fun with everyone, especially Jack and Charlotte. The weather was perfect; we went to the beach twice a day! Mommy and Sonia played hooky from work on Friday and Monday so we could stay as long as possible...Here are some pictures of the fun.

Mom was still home today when Danny came over to get me this morning. We were being extra silly so she go the camera out. We're off to the water park today -- notice our matching Thomas swimsuit tops?! (And our Cubs hats? We go nowhere without them.)

Hi everyone! I'm back. Finally bugged Mom enough so that she's finally putting pictures up from late winter/spring/early summer. Hopefully there's still people even coming to my site! Anyway, click here for a pretty long slideshow of what I've been up to: it starts with our trip to Seattle in February to see Evan and Jack (and Laura and Charley, too), and then there's some with Danny and I goofing around, a few from our trip to South Haven with Grammy and Pop Pop in March, then me happy in my new big boy bed, and then some random shots of me hanging around, gardening and watching the Cubbies (or golf, or tennis, or some sports) with Dad. Fun and frenzy with the Ferraras!

The Ferrara clan came over last weekend for another playdate and we had a super time. I loved having a houseful of people, getting all the toys out, and running laps up and down the hall! Plus I love holding baby Larina, who Mommy says is "the sweetest girl ever." We boys played with everything and we only got really crazy at the very end! Everyone took great naps that Saturday!

I helped Dad pick the recipes for Valentine's Day dinner. We made delicious choices: fennel, blood orange and pomegranate salad; roasted chicken with creamy Alsatian onion sauce and rice, haricot verts; and chocolate tart. But I hear the best part was the Domaine Chandon Chardonnay that Mom and Dad brought back from Napa before I came along to shake things up. I didn't get to try any of this dinner, a little too rich for my palate I'm afraid, plus it was time for bed before they got started! But they told me in the morning that it was perfect and that they enjoyed themselves very much.

Kalamazoo

A few weekends ago we went to Kalamazoo to visit Rose, Charlie, Midge and Foster. Mom and I took the train in the morning and Dad drove up after work. I loved the train ride!! I got to watch Elmo, and made faces at the nice man sitting behind us, I looked out the window and got very excited when the train whistle blew ("which was a lot since it was Amtrak and we stopped about a million times," says Mom). Mom and I decided it was a great way to travel.

It was a great weekend. We celebrated Midge's 18th and Foster's 15th birthdays! Rose's nephew Evan and his wife Anne came over for a visit with baby Ira and he and I had a super time playing together. Dad and Foster and I went sledding in the side yard on Saturday afternoon. All in all it was a blast and Mom's ready to get on the train again soon and go back!!

Bubble bath

Haven't had any bath pics in ages -- I love taking a bubble bath. Did you know you can make mittens with the bubbles and then pretend you are a lion and roar?! And you can also splash Daddy and see what happens!

As usual, Mom's been slacking with her blog postings! Anyway, it's been a cold and snowy winter this year, so lots of time inside! Here's Dad and I lazing around one afternoon...Dad keeps wishing I'd just fall asleep with him for a short nap on the couch, but no chance -- I might miss something!

We went to Colorado for a week during New Year this year -- it was so fun. It was my first plane trip and my first big trip away from home. Mom and Dad say I did great. The plane ride to Denver was fun, I sat next to the nicest girl and she helped entertain me, and I discovered the magic of DVDs (Elmo!). We were delayed in Denver with weather, which was a big hassle for the grown ups, but I just ran around and giggled, skipped my nap and everything, but not a single tear or tantrum! Once we got to Winter Park we settled into the big house surrounded by snow. Mom, Dad and Auntie Liz skied during the day, and I got to hang out with Nana and Papa G. They took me on an adventure every day; Nana found the library in Fraser and Papa G showed me the freight train and drove me around the parking garage, which I thought was one big tunnel. The last day I stayed with Mom and we went with Dad to see the mountain -- boy was it exciting to see chairlifts and skiiers and snowboarders. Dad says next year I get to try. By the end of the week we were all starting to get Mommy's cold, so it was time to come home! Of course no one remembered the camera to take scenic views atop the mountain, but here's a few photos of us lounging around the house.

I turned 2 years old today! I got lots of phone calls (my favorite thing in the whole world) with birthday wishes, which made me smile big every time. Mom and Dad kept the day pretty low key since we leave for our big vacation to Colorado early tomorrow morning, but I did get to see my favorite waitress Irene at the pancake restaurant, watched football with Dada and Momma, and had my new favorite dinner, chicken noodle soup. Then candles on a chocolate cupcake!! Mom got all weepy putting me to bed tonight, I guess she can't believe how fast I am growing up. She said it seemed like just yesterday that Dad bought New Year's Eve dinner from the vending machines at Evanston Hospital the night after I arrived -- and now I'm running around, talking a blue streak and completely in charge of this place! Just wait for what year 3 brings, Mom and Dad!

We went to the Botanic Gardens to see the lights and the trains they put together for the holidays. It was beatiful. I was captivated by the trains and the displays of all the Chicago landmarks; I wanted to get in the scenes and the trains so badly! All my grandparents came, too. That was a little confusing at first, but then I just soaked up all the attention (and love). We will have to go to the Botanic Gardens more next year. Here's more pictures.

Santa came!!

I got a wonderful play kitchen that I love. Now I can cook at the same time as Mom and Dad! I gave Mom and Dad a really special present for Christmas -- I slept until 8 am!! Mom said she couldn't have asked for anything else. We opened presents and had some breakfast (lox, bagels and cream cheese of course) and then headed up to Nana and Pappa G's. Liz, Jimmy and George arrived after my nap, and we had more presents and then an incredible feast that Pappa G made for us. It was a fantastic day. I had so much fun and I know Mom and Dad did, too. We spent Christmas eve with the Pope Madhava's and had a wonderful time!

Nikki and Leela and I ran around so much that it was nearly impossible to get any photos of us, althought Leela was willing to sit for a princess portrait. Rocky and Momma made dinner and Mom even made a buche de Noel for dessert (I heard it was delicious; we kids didn't get any). I fell asleep at their house and don't know what time Mom and Dad loaded me into the car to go home! And I didn't hear any of the it's-almost-midnight-you-really-expect-me-to-assemble-the-kitchen-after-all-that-wine discussion Dad and Mom had when we got home.

We exchanged Christmas presents with Dilma last night -- and she got me a new bike!! It only took three grown-ups to put it together. I had to ride it around the kitchen right away, and I can't wait to take it to the park in the spring. Thank you Dilma!

We celebrated Hannukah at Grammy and Pop Pop's last night. I had so much fun seeing everyone and especially playing with Sammie and Alex! We all got wonderful presents, and I didn't know what to play with there were so many new and fun things. I got to stay up late, and instead of falling asleep on the way home I talked the whole time and told Mom and Dad what a great night it was. Here's a few more pics.
